Football Cup Winners Predictions
Often harder to predict than the league, but we’re gonna do it anyway. Here are our picks for the Domestic and European Cups.
The oldest club competition in the world, the FA Cup has been mistreated by some of the big aides in recent years. The likes of Spurs and Liverpool need to start winning trophies so it is bemusing to see them constantly use this competition to play youngsters and reserves. One man who always takes the FA Cup seriously is Jose Mourinho and that’s why Manchester United is our top pick. For an outside tip, expect West Ham to do well as Manuel Pellegrini will want to show why the owners put faith in him.
WINNERS – Man United (6/1)
OUTSIDE TIP – West Ham (33/1)
The competition that no one cares about. The Carabao Cup will likely come down to whoever has the best reserve team and I think that will be out of Man City and Liverpool. For an outside tip, Claude Puel managed to get Southampton to a League Cup Final and could do the same with Leicester.
WINNERS – Liverpool (13/2)
OUTSIDE TIP – Leicester City (25/1)
Real Madrid has had a stranglehold on this competition the past few years and will no doubt be in contention this season. However, after losing Ronaldo and other teams around Europe strengthening, I think they will bow out in either the quarter or semi-finals. Pep Guardiola will be desperate to win this after failing with Bayern and in his first 2 attempts with City and I’m backing him to get the job done this time around. For an outside tip, Atletico are never far away and will be looking to bounce back after last seasons disappointment.
WINNERS – Manchester City (11/2)
OUTSIDE TIP – Atletico Madrid (16/1)
On paper, Chelsea should fancy their chances of winning this. However, Sarri’s goal will be getting Chelsea back in the Champions League meaning he could be playing a lot of the kids in the Europa. Sevilla are serial winners of this competition and are 3rd favourites to win again. Predicting the Europa is made even more difficult as you don’t know who will join from the Champions League 3rd place teams but as it stands Sevilla are the pick for us.
WINNERS – Sevilla (11/1)
