Premier League Relegation
Last season, to many people’s surprise, all 3 promoted sides managed to avoid the drop. Can the same happen again? Or will more established teams find themselves in the bottom 3? Here are our predictions for the bottom 3 places.
18th – Brighton
The Seagulls had a great debut season in the top flight, reaching the magical 40 point mark and finishing in 15th place. However, I expect second season syndrome to come in to play here. The signings made haven’t been that great and they’re no longer a surprise package.
19th – Huddersfield
Huddersfield managed to avoid the drop despite being everyone’s picks to finish bottom. Survival was aided by them winning their first 2 games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle as they beat the drop by 4 points. This year they begin with matches again Chelsea and Man City so don’t expect a strong start from the Terriers.
20th – Cardiff City
Neil Warnock performed miracles to achieve promotion with this Cardiff team who are, on paper, a mid-table Championship team at best. The problem is, while Warnock has always had great success in that division, he has failed every time he’s managed in the Premier League. Expect no different here.
Cardiff to finish bottom – 9/4
Brighton, Cardiff and Huddersfield to be relegated – 22/1
18th Brighton, 19th Huddersfield, 20th Cardiff – 66/1
