Wimbledon Quarter Finals

ROGER FEDERER vs KEVIN ANDERSON

World number 2 Federer has yet to lose a single set this year. He has looked in imperious form, but he hasn’t faced anyone with the quality of South African Kevin Anderson. Expect Federer to go through but Anderson is capable of causing a few problems.

PREDICTION – Federer to win 3-1 (11/4)

MILOS RAONIC vs JOHN ISNER

The hot weather at Wimbledon this year has helped these 2 huge servers. With the ground being dry and more bouncy, they have helped themselves to 252 aces between them (Isner 135, Raonic 117). Many people may wish for Isner to be eliminated seeing as he has invited Donald Trump to Wimbledon should he win and I think he will be edged out.

PREDICTION – Raonic to win 3-2 (9/2)

NOVAK DJOKOVIC vs KEI NISHIKORI

The dry courts spoke about above have also affected the shorter players with Japanese number 1 Nishikori the only player under 6ft to make it this far. He didn’t look too convincing for large parts of the last round and I expect Djokovic to get through comfortably here.

PREDICTION – Djokovic to win 3-0 (11/10)

RAFAEL NADAL vs JUAN MARTIN DEL POTRO

Nadal has, like Federer, been rolling back the years and is on course to make it a repeat of the final from 10 years ago against his Swiss rival. Del Potro is a very dangerous player but I think having to finish off a tough game against Frenchman Giles Simon yesterday will take its toll to give Rafa the edge.

PREDICTION – Nadal to win 3-1 (11/4)

ACCUMULATORS

Federer, Raonic, Djokovic and Nadal to win – 1.67/1

Federer 3-1, Raonic 3-2, Djokovic 3-0 and Nadal 3-1 – 154/1

– Robert Shiers
