CURRENT STANDINGS

SCORE PREDICTIONS

Nigeria 1-2 Argentina

As much as we all want Nigeria to win, unless you are Argentinian or a huge Messi fan, I can’t see all their big names failing for the third time. If Nigeria play as they did against Iceland though, this could be a long night for the South Americans.

Iceland 1-3 Croatia

Croatia were utterly brilliant against Argentina. As bad as the Argies were, Croatia played a perfect game for them. With qualification and probably top spot, given their impressive goal difference, secured, Croatia may rest certain players. I think they will want to keep momentum going though.

TIPS

NIGERIA vs ARGENTINA

Paulo Dybala to score first – 4/1

Argentina need to do something different here. Playing Messi and Aguero hasn’t worked and I expect Dybala to come in to the side to bring something different.

Argentina to win and BTTS – 9/4

Even if their key players do finally step up, I can’t see Argentina keeping a clean sheet against anybody at the moment. The defence was awful against Croatia leaving gaps everywhere. A player like Ahmed Musa could enjoy himself here.

ICELAND vs CROATIA

Gylfi Sigurdsson and Mateo Kovacic 2+shots on target each – 25/1

This could be a real good game. Croatia are through and Iceland need to win which could mean an open, end to end contest with chances aplenty. 25/1 good value here.

Luka Modric first goalscorer – 8/1

Arguably the best player in the tournament so far, Modric has scored in each of Croatia’s opening 2 games. With the Madrid maestro taking penalties and possibly free kicks, 8/1 is decent value for him.

Spain will be looking to see off Morocco comfortably after not really firing on all cylinders so far. However, with Costa in form they should have enough to see off Morocco here.
